[S1 E3]: Frankie & Courtney’s Family Hustle
The scene turns to Courtney’s living room where her husband Elijah is sitting on the phone; she enters with a hot cup of tea and sits down
Courtney: Hey suga. Who was that?
Elijah: It was the neurologist in California again…
Courtney: Oh gosh… I thought you already settled that?
Elijah: It wasn’t… I’m taking it.
Dramatic music begins to play as we see Courtney’s shocked reaction
Courtney: Wait — you said what ? *sets tea down on the coffee table*
Elijah: Courtney, you can’t sit here and think that we’re going to grow the spa if you were only available to Twitter residents.
Courtney: I never said that we should only be available to Twitter. What I’m saying you’re really thinking it’s okay to go to California without your family for half a damn year?!? Elijah that’s not cool dude!!!
Elijah: Why are you yelling? Calm down.
Courtney: Calm down?!? Really Elijah! You’re so wrong and you know it!!
Elijah: *yelling* How am I wrong for wanting better?!? You seem to only be thinking about yourself!!
Courtney: Myself?!? I’m thinking about myself?!? When you’re the one leaving for 6 months. *chuckles* whatever go have fun in Cali. I won’t be helping you pack. *walks out*
Elijah: Whatever. I’ll do it myself. This is bullshit.
The cameras pan to Courtney’s sister, Tamica walks into a music studio and is greeted by her sound engineer
Ron: Heyy Tamica!!
Tamica: RON RON AS FAST YOU CAN! How are you boo!
Tamica Confessional: Many of you know that I am an actress BUT not a lot of people know that I am also a singer. And Ron here, is my sound engineer and my good Judy! We’re working on my new album, Deep Space
Tamica: *walks into the recording room* Yesss I’m ready to lay these tracks down honey!
Ron: Let’s finish two songs then we can have a little conversation sis!
We see Tamica in the booth singing while her confessional plays in the background
Tamica Confessional: Deep Space will be my FIRST ever album and I am excited but I’m also nervous to see the outcome of this project. Whew pray for ya girl!
Tamica: *walks out of the booth and grabs water* I’m excited!! Do you think this project will be completed before the gala
Ron: The gala is next week right?
Tamica: I’m just kidding *laughs* you were SCARED. I understand it takes time.
Ron: Whew I was about to say! *chuckles*
Tamica: Anyway- how’ve you been? It’s been a little crazy since we last talked.
Ron: Just been working and thriving. How about you?
Tamica: *laughs* I just been crying and fighting chile.
Ron: Huh?!? What???
Tamica: Yes. You know Diamonte, the broad shoulder trick that I’ve been talking to you about…well we came to blows at Frankie’s house party the other day.
Ron: Oh my gosh! That is crazy. Why?!?
Tamica: I don’t even know. It literally all happened so fast. Seriously fast. Thankfully, we’ve made up.
Ron: Well all I will say is you need to stay away from that foolishness. You have a great album coming soon and you don’t need to be allowing that to get you off focus.
Tamica: I know… I know.
Ron: Have you talked to your PR manager?
Tamica: I haven’t… I know I’m going to get chewed out.
Tamica Confessional: For the last few months I’ve been working on getting my image on the right side of the media platforms so that I can release this album in good light BUT I know this will definitely cause some mess. Ughhh this is too much!!
Ryan and Frankie walk into the restaurant holding hands
Ryan: I have a reservation for Ryan Spicè
Waiter: Follow me through here sir
Ryan Confessional: Date night is very important to me because you can get create a solid foundation for your relationship and you make time for getting to know your partner.
Producer: Are you saying you and Frankie are together?
Ryan: I ain’t say all that. Frankie and I are taking things cautiously, my sister has been on my ass with the tweets and phone calls.
Ryan pulls out Frankie’s chair
Frankie: Thank you *smiles*
Ryan: You’re welcome.
Frankie: Are we going to wait for Elijah & Courtney?
Ryan: I feel like we can order some mozzarella sticks at least and a couple of drinks.
Frankie: Yeah, let’s do that.
Courtney: Hello hello you two!
Elijah: What’s up you guys
Frankie: Heyy!! How are y’all? I’m feeling this outfit!
Courtney: Thank you honey! I just threw this on chile. *sits*
Ryan: *dabs up with Elijah* What’s going on bro? Glad you two could make it. We ordered some drinks and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer.
Elijah: What’s up my guy! That sounds good.
Waiter: *walks up* What can I get you guys to eat this evening?
Ryan: I’ll have the surf and turf and the lady will have the spicy mac and cheese with shrimp and andouille sausage along with the grilled salmon with lemon pepper.
Courtney: Hey honey! May I get a tequila sunrise. Make it sweet. And lobster mac and cheese and salmon please. Elijah, you’re getting something?
Elijah: Give me time to speak *chuckles*
Courtney: I was just asking a question. Chill out…anyway, how are y’all?
Frankie: Good. Was going over some things for the new treats and strain I’m working on. It’s cool because I am about to start working with a dispensary so I can start learning how one is ran.
Ryan: I’m cool, did a couple of tattoos today and I had a very special guest come down to the shop today.
Courtney: That sounds nice!! Frankie, I had a product from your line the other night… child I was OUT *laughs*
Frankie: Which one did you try the brownie or the cookie because the cookie is way worse than the brownie?
Courtney: The brownie chile! I may be stressed but not that stressed *laughs* I gave the cookie to Tamica. She loved it.
Ryan: Aw shit. You gave Mica the cookie? I know she was out of her mind!
Frankie: *laughs* What else has been ging on with you guys?
Courtney: I have been working on my new talk show! And also preparing myself for other things chile *turns and scratches head*
Frankie: What are you preparing for girl? Another kid?
Courtney: Absolutely not! I think I’m done with children. Elijah wants one more but I ain’t going for it. *shrugs*
Frankie Confessional: Usually the Graham’s are full of life, energy and right now the energy is giving a mortician and morgue. I don’t know what’s going on but I’m gonna get to the bottom of this frequency cause I’m not feeling it but I shall play along for now.
Courtney: *whispering to Frankie* You see them having their own little thing going on?
Frankie: I think it’s nice that they’re meeting and bonding with each other. Seems to be going smoothly to me.
The cameras cut to Ryan and Elijah having their own conversation while Frankie and Courtney are talking
Elijah: How’s business going, Ryan?
Ryan: Business is going good! Dallas came to the shop today and yeahhh…..it was interesting.
Elijah: What you mean by interesting? It was bad?
Ryan: I’m gonna talk to Frankie about it but he was passing by the shop *cutting food* I thought he was coming in to speak but he came in saying I took his sister from him and he wants me to leave her alone because he doesn’t think I’m good for Frankie. But my thing is I thought we were okay at least, I have never formally introduced myself to him because Frankie and I aren’t serious and haven’t really established that we are exclusive, but I’m not talking to anybody but her.
Elijah: Ohh nahh bruh! That ain’t how it’s supposed to go. As a man I think you need to sit him down and have a talk with him about your plans. I will say- it’s his sister so having that concern is inevitable
Ryan: I mean if anything it made me respect him a lot more because he was just being honest. I can have that conversation with him but my main concern is getting Dallas and Frankie back on a good terms because Frankie told me about their history. I do get that he’s curious about what we have going on. But I feel like its a bit of misplaced anger and I know how that goes truthfully.
Elijah: When Courtney and I first got married, her sister DESPISED me *chuckles* it took a lot of conversations and boundaries being set for her to actually grow fond of me. It’s okay to set boundaries but you have to have that hard conversation as well. I think you guys make a great couple!
Elijah Confessional: Courtney and I have been married for a good long while at this point. We’ve definitely seen a lot of things. So hearing Ryan talk about this situation, it reminds me of that young man I was when Courtney and I first met. I pray nothing but the next for them.
Ryan: You think so? I haven’t pursued anything official with Frankie yet because my sister just is such disapproval of us because of the way she found out. You know? I want to even get all of us together so we can talk. But I do see a future with her honestly.
Elijah: *picks up wine glass* If you see a future with her… pursue it! Don’t you dare let anybody dictate what you do.
Ryan Confessional: I have Frankie’s best interest at heart and only want to see her do good and since we’ve been rocking with each other it’s like I feel like a different type of man and she’s been helping me grow so I want to return the favor and do the same as she’s done for me and that’s getting her together with Tre and Dallas.
Ryan: It’s not that anyone is dictating me, I just want to clean a few loose ends up because in the end if she becomes Mrs. Spicè our families will be merged and I don’t want to carry old shit over into our new shit.
Elijah: Understandable understandable. Bro I definitely commend you for going about this the right way. *fist bumps Ryan*
The cameras turn back to Courtney and Frankie talking
Frankie: Court, you okay girl?
Courtney: *mouths words* I’m aggravated with him right now…
Courtney Confessional: Honestly, I ain’t with the games right now. Elijah and I are NOT in the best place and it’s showing up more than I expected. I hate when we’re in these situations.
Courtney: *gets up* Frankie, can you come with me to the restroom really quick? Sorry to interrupt.
Frankie: Sure! *walks away with Courtney*
The cameras cut to Frankie and Courtney in the restroom
Courtney: Okay, so Elijah and I have been in this really shitty place for about two weeks now and I hate it. I don’t know really what to do. I’m upset with him but I don’t want it to feel like a war zone
Frankie: Why? What’s going on? It definitely feels like you both are disconnected from each other
Courtney: *whispering* So he got this job offer in California and he’s acting like he’s a single man. Basically alluding to the fact that he may just up and move there for 6 months. It’s quite disgusting to see how he’s navigating this process
Frankie: Up and move for six months? Uhhhhh what? That’s so sudden so are y’all not going with him?
Courtney: Girl, YES! Six months. And no, I told him I will not be uprooting my daughters from their school and normal life. That’s absolutely wrong. Frankie, he got upset with me because I told him I wasn’t letting him go. He literally looked at me and said “I’m a grown man and I’ll make my own decisions”
Frankie: That’s how we’re doing it now? Shit! Well, I think that you should support him on his venture especially if it’s bringing money in. Elijah is supporting you and us with out new venture. I get it’s scary but support looks different at every turn. You and the kids could go visit him on the weekends and that would mean you’d be a bicoastal queen.
Courtney Confessional: Frankie is amazing when it come to giving me advice. I always take in what she says. Right now, I can’t. Elijah has definitely crossed a line. Hopefully he has sense enough NOT to go.
Frankie: Chile. We need to get back to the table. My mac and cheese is still warm. We all link up tomorrow and talk about this.
Courtney: Girl, I don’t know. FaceTime MIGHT be the only thing he gets from me as of right now. *walks back out with the men*
Ryan: There y’all are. I dipped into your mac and cheese.
Frankie: Sooo Elijah you didn’t stop him?
Elijah: *laughs* I didn’t even see anything sis
Frankie: It’s the lies for me!
Courtney: Well it was nice seeing you guys! Hopefully we can do this again.
Ryan: It was definitely good! I’m glad you two came out. Elijah and I got to know each other and we even got each other’s contact info
Elijah: Definitely will be linking up bro. Frankie, he’s a keeper *covers mouth* as a friend of course *laughs*
Courtney: Oh my lord.
The scene pans over Frankie’s Twitter Lake home; the cameras capture the backyard where the kids are playing with Dallas and his friend, Mars.
We then see a car pulling into Frankie’s driveway and Ryan steps out of the car
Ryan Confessional: Dallas came to my shop “demanding” I have a conversation with him in the middle of me doing a client’s sleeve, my staff handled him the way strays should have but I don’t play those types of games while handling business, so I called up Frankie and told her we need to have a conversation ASAP! Hopefully we can get to the bottom of some things.
Ryan uses his key to get in as he takes his shoes off and puts on crocs; Jordan and London are seen running to the door to greet him
Jordan & London: Ryan! *hugging his legs*
Ryan: Whoa, whoa! Hey.! I miss y’all too. Why are yall’s grip so tight. What is your mama feeding you? Protein powder and ravioli *laughs*
Ryan Confessional: I have a wonderful relationship with London and Jordan. I don’t claim them as my own but as Frankie and I are getting to a more comfortable place, I do plan on being a solid father figure for them if we can get to that point. Sometimes it takes a village to raise kids, you can’t put everything on your back. We can only be strong for so long.
Dallas: *sees Ryan* Sup.
Ryan: What’s good?
Dallas: Not much. Just came from the gym.
Ryan: I see you out here with the pump. *starts flexing and the kids chuckle*
Dallas Confessional: My relationship with Ryan is just touch and go, yes I did go down to his shop and show my ass a bit but I was mad at Frankie and somewhat Ryan because I feel like Frankie has forgotten about me and is more so solely focused on Ryan.
Frankie is seen coming around the corner into the kitchen and shocked to see Dallas & Ryan together
Frankie: Well damn, you just walk into people’s houses and don’t make yourself known?
Ryan: I gotta key!
Frankie: And? You put my crocs on again and you didn’t let me know you were here *laughs*
Ryan: I miss you too and I like your crocs better than mine anyway.
Frankie: So what was the point of me buying the green ones?
Ryan: Just in case I mess your crocs up.
Frankie: The fuck? The hell you are. I got this invoice on standby!
Ryan: I got the money, send it.
Frankie Confessional: Ryan is just like TRE and it’s really scary because dealing with Tre and her shade gives me a run for my money, yes Tre, take the compliment, anyway…
Dallas: Alright lovers, let’s start this off with *presents cinnamon rolls*
Ryan: Bet! Winning!
Dallas: I’m not here to disrespect anybody and I don’t want anyone to disrespect me, I would like to be heard in this conversation and I would like to hear you both out as well.
Frankie: You wanna start this off? *looks at Ryan*
Ryan: *mouth full* I guess. I’m glad you set the boundaries at the beginning of the conversation but you’ve already crossed the line with and I just don’t get what compelled you to come down to MY SHOP! And show out when I’m chasing a bag and handling business?
Frankie: *looks confused* When was this?
Ryan: Yesterday before our double date night with Courtney and Elijah.
Frankie: Why didn’t either of you say anything?
Frankie Confessional: I had NO idea Dallas was THAT UPSET with Ryan when they only have had a couple interactions with each and small conversation here and there. We’re not even together officially and Dallas is adding onto the problems we all currently have with Tre!
Dallas: Frankie! We haven’t talked since my cancer went into remission that was six months ago!? Half the fucking year goes by and you don’t say anything to your brother? I rang that bell by myself and you know whowas there for me …… Mars.! *voice starts to break up*
Frankie: I- I was on call and I know that severely hurt you but damaged you…but….
Dallas: There is NO BUT! You were with Ryan AFTER you were on call! Are you kidding?
Ryan: *loudly* AYE! This is your sister! I get it! It HURTS! I’m not even coming at you, lemme tell you something young man, your sister is your sister no matter what y’all go through. Yes, Fran’s priorities can be fucked up and she doesn’t know how to balance entrepreneurial duties, family life, doctor life and even being a mom. I can speak on that because I am in the EXACT boat as she is. It doesn’t make us dumb or incapable but it makes us human and sometimes there are similarities in the differences, but YOU can’t hold onto them forever. Sometimes you just gotta forgive for yourself and your core.
Dallas: Ryan. I hear you but your word holds no weight over here especially how you’ve done your sister.
Ryan: What have I done to my sister?
Frankie: Listen. This is going way too deep. Dallas you’re right. I should tend to my family duties and it’s like Ryan said, I’m human, I fuck up and I’m allowed to make mistakes but I missed something important to you and I can understand how hurtful that was.
Ryan: Wait, wait, wait……stop. Fran missing your remission ceremony was not the only thing that drove the wedge in between y’all. The issue really started when you were prancing around with Annika saying that was your “friend”
Dallas: SHE! WAS! MY! FRIEND! Are you dumb?!
Ryan: Hey I’ll be what I am, a dumb mofo but if you come around that island there’s going to be a REAL problem.
Frankie: Ryan! Please! That’s my brother.
Dallas: Yeah, aight sir. Don’t let this pretty face fool you
Ryan: Fran, I’m not gonna be disrespected and nor am I going to be allowed for you to be disrespected either. Now that the boundaries of this conversation are gone, it’s just time to fight.
Dallas: So this is who you’re replacing me with!? Someone threatening your blood and you’re just sitting there saying “Ryan. Please. That’s my brother.” Sad. All that we’ve been through and you can’t put your happiness aside to standby me and support me? This man has a baby mama, a child that he rarely sees!
Ryan is seen restraining himself as he gets more frustrated and listens to Dallas
Dallas: That’s who you wanna be with? A joke? With ALL due, Jackie was a better man to you than Ryan will ever be! I’m outta here. This shit is corn-
Ryan gets up off his chair and begins to charge Dallas; Frankie steps in as well as a security staff member to stop him
Frankie: Ryan! Look at me. Let me talk to him, please. I just think that you should just cool off and go home.
Ryan: This is my home. I’m not going anywhere but I am going upstairs to the smoke room. Fran, you know I don’t play that shit.
Ryan Confessional: You can say whatever you want about me but leave my kid out of your foolish bullshit. That’s a quick trigger for me! No hesitation. Zero to a thousand real quick. I’m supposed to be the good guy and listen to him vent but do it in a disrespectful way. At first, I thought we were going to break bread but I guess not.
Frankie: Dallas, I’m sorry that I hurt you.
Ryan: *yelling* This MY HOUSE! Welcome to the King’s Castle! I ain’t going no where! I live here too.
Dallas: Yo Mars! Let’s rollout!
Dallas Confessional: If I don’t go, Frankie won’t have a home and I love my nephews but *smirks* listen, I’ve come a long way into not letting anger control me and today I almost had a slip up, time to go.
Mars and Dallas are seen leaving and driving off
Frankie Confessional: I really wanted to hear Dallas out but the petty betty blood is strong as always. I didn’t even know that Dallas came at Ryan, then Ryan bringing up Annika and then the low jabs from both of them made it turn into chaos. I just think it’s a clash of that alpha male ego shit. This is exhausting.
Next time on Frankie & Courtney’s Family Hustle: Frankie and Courtney meetup with old friends of theirs that are here to shakeup some trouble. Tamica and Diamonte hang out after their altercation. Everyone attends the Twitter Heroes Gala where drama brews between the families.
