[S2 E6]: Frankie & Courtney’s Family Hustle

The Andy Network
22 min readAug 9, 2022

The episode begins with Christina in a painting studio waiting for her guests

Christina

Christina Confessional: So today I’ve invited Jocelyn and Courtney to a Sip and Paint. Some time to talk about what’s going on and for them to reconnect.

Jocelyn walks in

Jocelyn

Jocelyn: I came prepared with my brushes and colors!

Christina: I’m so glad you could make it!

Jocelyn: I didn’t know if they’d have the cheap stuff or not. *laughs and hugs Christina*

The scene jumps to Courtney walking in 15 minutes later

Courtney

Courtney: Hello hello…

Jocelyn: Hey Boujee Milf. I guess that explains why you’re late.

Christina: Who was she MILF-ing?

Courtney: *laughs* How are y’all? *sits*

Christina: Better now that you’re here. Only took you 20 minutes

Courtney Confessional: I really didn’t want to come…I’m here for the sisterhood I guess.

Jocelyn: I’ve been making it. Still recovering from that housewarming.

Christina: Did you and Tre work things out?

Jocelyn: *looks* Absolutely not. Girl...it got ugly. She kicked me out that house. *laughs*

Courtney: She kicked you out??

Christina: What happened? I knew I shouldn’t have left, I’m the heart whisperer around here!

Jocelyn: She told me that she was a good friend to me and I said that she wasn’t a good friend and she’s not even a good one to her brother. Then, I went on about how if Mike’s penis kept her mouth full, she wouldn’t have room to have Donovan’s in there. And she said I didn’t need to straddle the fence and then kicked me out. I told Donovan to get us off that wack ass island.

Christina: You said all that? You two love to go for broke in arguments

Jocelyn: There was more, honey, but I’m truly done with her. She’s never cared about me because if she didn’t, she wouldn’t act the way she’s acted.

Courtney: Yeahh…I honestly don’t think Trè knows how to be a friend. She’s kinda shown me in more ways than one that’s she’s not capable of that.

Jocelyn: What made you say all that, Courtney gal?

Courtney: Well honestly, she’s been talking shit about me to Elijah. Meeting up with him and basically trying to get “information” on me to run back to the group.

Jocelyn: That’s really low.

Christina: What group? *laughs*

Christina Confessional: When Courtney brought me in, I thought there was a friendship group. But these weeks of being around them, I can’t say I’ve seen any type of friend group.

Courtney: I honestly don’t know…I really feel like we’ve drifted far from the family we were at one point.

Christina: I think everyone has their own stuff going on and it’s just hard *shrugs* I’m doing me though. *starts sipping and painting*

Jocelyn: What are you doing, Christina?

Jocelyn Confessional: Besides keeping up mess. *laughs*

Christina: Painting, what do you see me doing?

Jocelyn: Oh- well, if that’s all you doing these days, I hope life is good.

Christina: Life is amazing.

Courtney laughs and paints

Courtney: Question. How do we feel about the birthday party for Nala?

Jocelyn: I’m not going. I don’t think it’s best for me to go especially after the housewarming.

Courtney: Nooo why not??? I think it’s best if you do go!. It’ll help clear the air

Jocelyn: That housewarming got very heated, it would be weird if I went.

Christina: Courtney, are you even invited? You weren’t even invited to the housewarming

Courtney: Uhhh she invited me.

An unaired scene of Tre & Nala at Courtney’s door giving her an invite is shown

Courtney: We always vowed to leave the children out of whatever we had going on.

Christina: That is shocking. Jocelyn you should come, you two were very close

Courtney: Yeah. You should be there.

Jocelyn: If y’all insist. I hope nothing comes up. *laughs*

Christina: Don’t make no excuses, I know you Twitter girls love one of those

Courtney: I think it’ll be funnnnn!

The scene transitions to Tre setting up a nice lunch platter outside

Tre

Tre: I hope she likes it.

Tre Confessional: After my conversation with my son, I realized he was right so I invited my mom over today. This is something that’s been long overdue and quite frankly after the housewarming, I really want less drama and tension in my life. I hope starting with my mother will be a good start.

The doorbell rings

Veronica (Tre’s Mother)

Veronica: Oh this is really nice. This is bigger than the piece of land I own in Savannah…

Mike opens the door with Noah in his hand

Mike: Hey come on in. Tre is out back and she should be expecting you.

Veronica: Thank you Mike. Is this my grandson? The middle child as they say? Awww look at him *grabs cheeks* He looks just like you. *chuckles*

Mike: Why thank you.

Veronica makes her way outside and is greeted by Tre

Tre: Oh hi mom! Thanks for coming! How are you? *gives her a hug*

Veronica: I’m doing well thanks baby. I love this house. You did really well and that grandson of mine looks just like your husband.

Tre: Thank you and thank you. *laughs* This house is really for everyone as we consider it a family home. Whenever the family is in town, they always have a home here.

Veronica: Well that’s nice…very nice. *takes a seat* So how is everything with you and your brothers? Hunter told me a little bit and I wasn’t thrilled but you all are grown and should know better.

Tre: It’s complicated with Ryan and I. I think we’re taking two steps forward but somehow we end up ten steps back. Things with KP are fine but Ryan…I don’t know. I don’t have time for the roller coaster ride anymore.

Tre Confessional: My relationship with Ryan hasn’t always been this way. Perhaps he’s tired of me and doesn’t need his sister anymore. That’s how I feel because the constant disrespect and the constant switch up when he’s around his “family” is a bit much for me.

Veronica: That’s your brother and you two know better and I know y’all will make it right soon.

Tre: Yeah you’re right and I hope we can at least try to get back to where we were. We’ve both grown and I know things won’t stay the same forever but I still love him regardless. *laughs* So enough about that. I invited you so we can talk about our relationship.

Veronica: And what about it?

Tre: I feel you weren’t there for me a lot growing up. I had to fend for myself a lot and I’m just thinking it’s one of the reasons why I have this wall up all the time.

Tre Confessional: My mom was not a bad mother don’t get me wrong but I personally feel I needed that support. You know I am the oldest as I have two brothers underneath me but I felt she wasn’t there for me as much like she was with my brothers.

Veronica: Do you want to know why?

Tre: And why is that?

Veronica: Because you’re my daughter and I knew you had it in you.

Tre: I’m confused.

Veronica: Look at where you are today baby and look at how far you’ve come…

Tre: I’m not quite understanding.

Veronica: I hate to be blunt with you like this baby but you was a stripper.

Tre: I prefer the term dancer these days…

Veronica: Oh girl shut up. Stripper and dancer mean the same thing. You were shaking what God gave you. *laughs* Was I disappointed? Absolutely but it wasn’t my choice. You had to do what you had to do. You came from the bottom, and worked your way up.

Tre Confessional: When she says it like that, it doesn’t sound any better. I didn’t strip…dance my way to the stop. *laughs*

Veronica: And you realized you wanted better for yourself. You got married at a young age, had Hunter at a young age, and still, you did what you needed to do. So if you feel like I didn’t support you enough, I apologize baby. I knew I wouldn’t need to worry about you because I knew you were the strongest one of my babies.

Tre: Well when you put it in that context, it makes much sense. I felt like Ryan and KP were supported in all of their endeavors meanwhile I was told to figure it out.

Veronica: And I’m sorry about that baby. I’m not perfect myself and if I can go back and change some things I would. I’m the reason why you have the wall up and I’m hoping after today we can break that wall. Baby steps of course.

Tre: Yeah I mean of course baby steps. It won’t happen overnight but I do appreciate how you were honest about it and didn’t try to diminish my feelings. That made me feel good.

Tre Confessional: I’m honestly surprised she apologized and understood where I was coming from. When I had my own child, I wanted to make him feel abandoned or that he never had a mother’s love and support. *grabs tissue* This is the first time I’ve been open about this with my mom because I’ve carried that around for so long and I’m sure it affected some of my relationships.

Veronica: I want things to be better between us because I know you pull away. I’m lucky that you at least gave me a relationship with Hunter because without him, this wouldn’t have happened. It proves to me what I already knew. I want a relationship with my granddaughter and my other cute grandson.

Tre: Well we’re definitely heading in the right direction and I do want you to come to Nala’s birthday. You can go there and meet some of these individuals.

Veronica: Are they your friends?

Tre: It’s…complicated. *laughs*

Tre Confessional: My conversation with my mom went better than expected and it was definitely a step forward in the right direction. I’m hoping now I’ll be better in my other relationships with people. People do love to test The Good Sis now. I’m open but I’m no fool.

Veronica: Now did you make this spread or did you buy it?

Tre: I can lie and say I made it but I bought it.

Veronica: You don’t love your momma

Tre: Of course I love you but I have days that I cook and today was not one of them. I still love you though! *laughs*

Tre gives her mom a hug as they both laugh

The scene opens up with Jhene Aiko’s “Pressuring” in the background as Frankie is shown driving to Twitter Island

Frankie Confessional: Being a mom is a lot of work and it literally takes a village to raise kids. Ryan does a great job helping with Jordan and London but I don’t want either of them to miss out on mommy time. With Dallas being sick he needs my full attention, so I’m taking the kids to Jackie’s house, so she can care for them full time.

Frankie arrives at Jackie’s house

Frankie & Jackie

Jackie opens the door

London: Mommy!

Jordan: Mama!

Jackie: Hi my babies!

Frankie: Hey Jackie *hugs*

Jackie: How are you? How is Dallas doing?

Frankie: Dallas is managing, it’s just a lot on us mentally

Jackie: I did text him the other day just to tell him that I care about him and sent my love. I need to go over there to see him.

Frankie follows Jackie into her house

Frankie: Where is Jazz at?

Jackie: Who?

Frankie: Your girlfriend?

Jackie: Ex-Girlfriend.

Frankie: Lord, y’all are on again, off again, again?

Jackie: You know how we do. I mean, she did come over last night and give me some bop

Frankie: You look satisfied!

Jackie: Very. *turns to the kids* Can you let mama and mommy talk for a while?

The kids nod and they run off upstairs

Jackie: Oh, by the way, Tre lives across the way.

Frankie: I thought this damn neighborhood looked familiar.

Jackie: We don’t run into each other but I was being noisy when I saw Ryan and Courtney leave and they looked over it so I don’t know what happened. Let’s sit in my office…

Frankie: You have an office now?

Jackie: Yes ma’am. Working from home pays off.

Frankie: I know that’s right.

Frankie Confessional: Jackie and I have a great relationship with each other, we talk, we text, we lunch and she and Ryan have conversations often which is really nice because we are already dealing with one baby mama we don’t need anymore problems in the mix.

Jackie: It’s a bit small but it’s comfortable and I love it.

Frankie: Okay! I see you! Making boss moves, I am very proud of you.

Jackie: Thank you but are you okay? How are you feeling about just leaving the kids with me?

Frankie: Naturally it doesn’t feel great. I feel like I am failing them in a way but at the same time I am only doing what is right for them. Plus, they have this unique bond with Ryan and I don’t want that to fade away. I just sometimes never feel like I’m good mom. All my friends have kids and have above slight good relationships and I just feel as though I am in the thick of my shit

Jackie: Which is understandable but please don’t feel that way. You have done the best you could for a very long time even when we were together but sometimes it takes more than you. It takes your whole camp. I don’t want you to worry about the kids while caring for Dallas. I am cool with them staying here permanently if you are.

Frankie: True! But it’s just hard not to think about it.

Jackie: Have the doctors said anything about Dallas getting better?

Frankie: *tears stream down face* It’s spreading but at this point, I feel like they’re about to say, his time is ticking. I feel helpless like I’m not doing enough.

Jackie: *goes to hug Frankie* You are doing what you can with the resources you have and the connections you’ve got. Dallas wouldn’t want you to be upset. Don’t make me walk across the way to go knock on your sister-in-law's door. I know she’s home because she stays on Twitter. I think she sells Avon or Liz Claiborne from home.

Frankie: *giggles a bit* The grandma perfume?

Jackie: Yes, yes. You know she is an elderly auntie that’s in everyone’s business but her own. She’s literally Pearl from 227.

Frankie starts laughing

Frankie: I needed that laugh. But I have to be on my way back to the hospital. Dallas chemotherapy is starting in 45 minutes and this drive to the islands is exhausting.

They walk to the front door

Jackie: Well thanks for coming by. The kids and I will call you later after the treatment so they can talk to uncle Dallas.

Frankie: Thanks *smiles* See you later.

Jackie: Bye *waves and closes door*

The scene pans to a park as Christina is seen taking pictures of Courtney and her daughters

Courtney, her daughters, and Christina

Courtney Confessional: So I’ve decided to go through with the divorce and Christina is the first person I’m telling… quite shocking right. *chuckles* I think a hold sunny day and and some playground stuff is the best way to lay the news on her.

Christina walks up to the playground and stumbles in her shoes

Christina: Oh bitch! These damn wood chips, this why I don’t have no kids.

Courtney: *laughs* Don’t forget those heavy ass thigh highs! *watches the girls* I’m sorry but I gotta sit down honey.

Christina: Let’s sit down then. *slowly slips onto the bench* Whew this shit is hard on my ass. Okay so I have to tell me, I talked to your mother yesterday.

Courtney: And you mean mama porter? As in Shirley porter? Chile about what?

Christina: Yes, your one and only mother. You know she’s very concerned because she won’t be around anymore, going back to New Orleans.

Courtney: I know…I hate she’s leaving. She’s been praying like crazy. I don’t know. I just feel she really has valid points

Christina: But Courtney you’re grown. You have to figure this out and voice what you need. She is your mom but you’re not an incapable teenager anymore

Courtney: Christina you don’t know how hard that is! I was raised by a mother who was strict. I had no other choice but to depend on her. Then I went off to college and was being fast in the ass now I’m alone! I feel lonely quite frankly, I’m scared girl. I’m soo scared. I don’t know how to be no damn single mother. I don’t know how to do this shit Christina. *begins crying*

Christina: *leans back, shocked* Girl why you crying? *rubs her back* Now wait a minute…

Christina Confessional: Courtney has been known as the messiest, most scandal-driven bitch in Twitter yet she’s crying because her mom is leaving? Nope, something deeper is going on

Christina: You listen to me, you have been through a lot and you are prepared for whatever life throws at you. And you don’t have to do it alone

Courtney: *wiping tears* I know…I really have to learn how to ask for help and support. I’m tired. Wheww I truly am…

Christina: So what do you need, bitch? Speak up!

Courtney Confessional: A bitch needs a therapist and whatever Frankie smoking.

Christina: It’s not like you have a real job but you have real money. Put that shit to work for you and these kids.

Courtney: Well uhhh…I honestly think at this point…I’m filing for a divorce. I can’t keep taking the hits and the toxicity is beginning to get unbearable

Christina: Oh that was expected, you filed the separation *laughs* and you’ve been messing with KP.

Courtney: *hits Christina leg* Stop ittttt. You’s a messy bitch.

Christina: I’m just calling it like I see it

Courtney Confessional: It’s time I take charge of my life. And this is the first step. Imma make it. My girls and I are going to be just fine.

Courtney: Whatever bitch. Let’s go! I have shit to do.

Christina: I’m not getting up on these wood chips again! *looks around* I need a big strong man to carry me!

Christina points at some random man and mouths HELP. The scene ends as she gets carried out by the man

The scene turns to Tre’s home where people are seen setting up for Nala’s Birthday Party

Nala, Tre, Mike

Tre Confessional: Today is Nala’s second birthday and I wanted to have a small an intimate gathering for my Princess. I extended an invitation to my mother so I’m hoping that doesn’t come back and bite me. Unlike the housewarming, I want this day to be drama free.

October, Tre’s party planner, comes through the house

October: I think everything is beautiful. You like it, Tre?

Tre: Everything is lovely October! My little precious baby Nala is going to render this. I love your outfit too!

October: Thank you, it’s very very Old Town Road but I love my heritage *snorts a little while laughing*

Tre: I don’t know what to say about you October. You’re a little Southern Island girl but I love it.

KP, Tre’s brother, and his family are seen walking into the party

KP, Kyla, and his children

KP: Wassup wassup wassup! Uncle KP and the gang in the bitch!

Kyla (KP’s Girlfriend): Boy what did I tell you? We are at your niece’s birthday party. Stop with that language now. *giggles*

Tre greets KP and the family

Tre: How are you guys? I’m so glad you all could make it since you missed the housewarming. Thank you Kyla for playing the part. KP doesn’t get it AT ALL. *laughs*

Kyla: You know we wouldn’t miss it and you know how your brother is.

KP: Nah sis I wasn’t going to miss this. Sorry about the housewarming but you know…the Twitter peeps don’t like me out here.

Christina & Jocelyn

Christina is seen walking into the party with multiple gift bags and signing while Jocelyn follows behind her

Christina: Happy Birthday to ya! Happy Birthday to ya! Where is Nala?

Jocelyn: This is cute!

Christina: I hope I’m enough in theme, I don’t want Tre to kick me out.

Tre: Thank you guys for coming. You followed the theme somewhat and Jocelyn actually nailed it. Oh and gifts?! How sweet of you Christina!

Jocelyn: You’re welcome.

Christina: I want the girl blinged out, glammed out, and decked out in fashions!

Tre: That’s right Christina! Bling bling bling! Bitches is mad. *laughs*

Christina: *looks at Jocelyn & Tre* So you two didn’t leave on a good note, how can we change that?

Tre: Let’s not do this right now but I do appreciate her being here. This is about Nala and I don’t want any drama to ruin her special day.

Tre Confessional: I do appreciate Jocelyn coming ON TIME and following the dress code because she didn’t need to after what happened at my housewarming. I don’t forget but I do appreciate the gesture.

Courtney is caught by the cameras taking pictures with her kids

Courtney, Alana, and Ashten

Courtney: This is actually pretty cute.

Alana: It’s hot out here mommy. Can we go inside…PUHLEASE?

Courtney: Girl hold on.

Courtney finishes taking pictures and walks in with the girls

Courtney: Well hello hello! *waves*

Christina: Oh hey Courtney! Hey girls! *kisses them on forehead*

KP: Slimmmmmm! How you been girl?

Courtney: *hugs Christina* Hey baby! Y’all look good. Hey Jocelyn! Hey Trè!

Jocelyn: Hey girl!

Tre: Why hello Miss Porter! I’m glad you could be here! Glad the girls could come for some high tea

Courtney: They’ve been talking about it allll week. *laughs* thank you for inviting us. *looks at the girls* Tell auntie Trè hey!

Both of the girls say hey and hug Trè

Christina: I love how light the energy is

KP: Aye so slim you ignoring me now? *laughs* You not happy to see Uncle KP?

Kyla: Uncle KP? She yo niece? I’ve never met her before and I’m sure your siblings are too hold to have other kids.

Christina Confessional: Jocelyn, Tre, Courtney, and myself are following the theme. But who is this girl with KP? She’s following the theme of COVID Nurse collection but not tea party

Courtney: Uhh Trè. Where are the kids?

Jocelyn: *laughs* Not where are the kids. Nala is over there, I think.

Courtney: Okay girls, y’all go play with Nala

They go run and play

Tre: Well I actually want you guys to meet someone…Actually some people excuse me…

Jocelyn: Who are we meeting?

Tre: I want you all to meet my oldest son Hunter and my mother Veronica…I felt it was important to show you all the other half of me that I don’t show very often.

The cameras follow Tre’s son, Hunter, and her mother, Veronica, as they walk into the party

Courtney: *smiles* Awww hello there! Nice to meet you two. Momma you look so good honey!

Veronica: Why thank you suga. You’re a very pretty young lady.

Jocelyn: Oh wow…I’ve never met Momma Veronica. Hi there!

Veronica: Nice to meet you as well! I think I’ve seen you before in some magazines Miss Lady…

Jocelyn: You have! I’m probably sitting on the cover of one that’s in your house right now. *smiles*

Jocelyn Confessional: I hope that since Tre is sharing Momma V with us now, she can act more like the way Momma V raised her.

Christina: Tre your son is fucking gorgeous. Your mother is also very pretty. I can see where the family Lois come from.

Courtney: *lowers head and chuckles* Girl…

Tre: Okay okay. OKAYYYYY Christina…thank you so much but he has a girlfriend. *laughs*

Christina: And he can get a new one right now! Let’s really make this a family affair, I got more money than her

Courtney: It was nice meeting you all! I’m about to go check on my babies really quick. *walks away from the group*

Jocelyn and Christina continue talking to Tre’s mother, Veronica

Jocelyn: So all these are yours!? *laughs* Ryan, Tre, and KP?

Christina: Whew, what a bunch! I know your hands were tired from smacking all of them on the ass

Jocelyn: *laughs* I know that’s right

Veronica: Yes they are! *laughs* They’re all pretty good but you know sometimes mama had to straighten them out…

Christina: Speaking of straightening them out, we may need to straighten the youngest out. Where is KP? He has some things to answer

Veronica: My baby KP? What he did now? *looks over*

Christina: KP has said a lot of lies about my cousin Courtney there. He even tried to fight her husband.

Veronica: Fight?!? Not my lil baby KP…

The cameras capture Courtney walking back into the house and KP confronting her

KP: Aye yo slim…what’s going on? You ignoring me now?

Courtney: I’m not ignoring you. Your girlfriend over there

KP: Yeah she is but you act like you upset with me for checking in on you…

Courtney: I’m not upset. You know why I’m upset KP. We’re not even doing this.

KP Confessional: I don’t know why Courtney up here fronting like this. Yeah I know this my niece birthday but nahhhh…you not finnna play me like this like I ain’t been there for you.

KP: So now you’re pretending to be upset now? You weren’t upset when I came down to help you move…when we went down to Miami…so why are you upset? You knew the situation…and then yo man trying to one up me in my shop…in my city? You got me fucked up slim cause you’re out doing you

As the conversation gets more heated the rest of the party guests begin to walk over and look

Courtney: KP are you serious bro? You know you lied! I don’t give a good god damn about what you got going on. Quit playing it like I forced you to do anything. YOU knew what you had in your bed before you VOLUNTEERED my couch. Quit playing with me KP.

KP: I ain’t never lied to you. My situation with Kyla is public information and see what you’re doing right now is the same shit you did when we were in college. I’m not trying to go back and forth with you, but you not finna play in face.

Veronica: Watch your language boy…

Courtney: YOU were a real help to me when I was in the midst of the madness. I will not lie about that BUT you’re not gonna sit here and act like you told me about your girlfriend. You acted as if what you did was super hero worthy. Quit the bullshit KP.

Christina: So let’s just ask the question. Did you two have sex?

Courtney: *looks around* Christina you being real messy

Christina: If you want to go around the issue Courtney then you do it but you came to me upset because you said y’all didn’t

KP: Yes we did have sex Christina.

Christina: *looks at Courtney* So you lied to me!

Courtney: Bitch it wasn’t yo business!!

Christina: Bitch? *gets closer to Courtney*

Courtney: Christina you better get out my face

Jocelyn: Ladies! Bring it down!

Christina: The same bitch that’s helping you raise your kids, pay your bills, and make sure the man keep it trill? You know what Courtney, I don’t need to be in your face. You are pitiful.

Courtney: Paying my bills?!?

Courtney starts walking up on Christina and Tre’s son Hunter steps in between them

Hunter: Ayeee sexy mamas don’t do this…

Courtney: Bitch I will slap you in real life. Don’t play with me girl.

Christina: *laughs* Courtney don’t test me girl

KP: *slightly grabs Courtney by the arm* Slim what are you doin?

Courtney: KP, go over there with Kyla and leave me alone. I’m good.

Courtney Confessional: This is what you call a man’s heart being exposed. His girlfriend and kids are over there and he tryna calm me down? Y’all better catch these context clues.

Courtney: I will hurt that hoe!

Christina: Are you serious right now? We grown as hell and you threatening to hurt me?

Courtney: You’re a liar Christina

Christina: Courtney, I’m done with you. Have a nice life.

Christina Confessional: You know what, Courtney does not have to depend on me for anything anymore. I’ve been by her side and trying to help her, but look at how I get treated. I hope Elijah takes everything including the kids.

KP: Slim, don’t push people that’s been here for you…that’s all Imma say to you. Cause you know I’m that man that gave you some loving when you needed it. *walks back over to Kyla and the girls* Come on y’all. Let’s go…

Courtney: *tears rolling* Y’all know better mannn. Y’all truly know better.

Christina: Tre, thank you for the invitation. I don’t want to ruin your daughters party anymore than I already have. I’m really sorry it went this way, Nala doesn’t deserve this.

Tre: I mean it’s bound to happen at this point. The family hustles every damn time. *laughs*

The scene ends as everyone is seen leaving the party

The second part of Season 2 will air in October! Until then, on behalf of the cast & production, thank you all for the amazing support!
